Confessing My Love of Cloth Napkins

Easter is a great time to pull out all the spring tablewares!

This may sound like the most boring post ever, but stick with me for a bit. I want to share with you why cloth napkins are my jam!

To begin with, they complete the beauty of a table setting!  As important as plates or silverware, some form of napkin must be supplied, so why not make it beautiful and soft?

For those who want to protect the environment, cloth napkins are so much better than a single use paper napkin.

My favorite black linen napkins! Perfect for every day.

Price per use for a cloth vs paper napkin, cloth will win!  I LOVE to use the cheap linen napkins from H&M on a daily basis. I went with black so stains won’t show.  In full disclosure, they do not go with my dining room decor. However, they are perfect for BBQ or spaghetti night!  I also have them in celery green and beige. The latter are my fancy daily napkins…make sense?

I recently purchased these lovely napkins on Etsy.

I have enough cloth napkins to clean the mouths of an army.  Since they do not go out of style, why not?  I have generic white linen, matching napkins for tablecloths and placemats, monogrammed napkins, winter napkins, spring napkins, etc.  I love to accent a table with napkins!  Please tell me that you are as addicted as I am!

If you are a frequent reader, you know that I have more than once shared a post for making or embroidering napkins. Some of my favorites are those made from flour sack dish towels. They are so easy to make that it is easy to make some for a holiday or special occasion.  Check out this post for the how to.  I have even embroidered names on them so that they serve as both a napkin and place card!

Aren’t these lovely? They just make me happy to look at them!

One of my more recent purchases are these gorgeous, embroidered napkins featuring a bunny. We have wild bunnies that hang out in our flowerbeds, so I thought they provided good representation of our house.

The final products have excellent embroidery and a nice hand (sewing-speak for feels good on the skin).  They are almost too pretty to use, but I will! I am contemplating Easter as their first outing!

Do you prefer cloth napkins to paper napkins?  Which will you use on your Easter table?
