Mineola Wine Train

This past weekend I traveled with a few hundred folks on the Mineola Wine Train.  The train leaves from Mineola and about 3 or 4 hours later, rolls into downtown Ft. Worth.

After a brief walk to the hotel, you are ready for a night in Downtown.  The next morning you have a free morning, since the train leaves at 2 p.m.

This makes a for a fun trip, even if you don’t want to drink the wine.  There were 4 cars on the train dedicated to this group.  We were with a bunch of fun loving folks who were friendly and engaging. You were invited to share their drinks and join the random conga line from time to time.

Not only does this make for a great weekend getaway, but proceeds go to a good cause, the Mineola Main Street Project.  Tickets go on sale in early January.  You need to call early because is sells out quickly. By the time I called in late January, I was already relegated to the waiting list.

Tickets, which this year were $135 each, include the round trip train ride, wine, and snacks.  There is a discount rate at the hotel, $135 plus taxes this year.  It is all so close together that you can walk to the hotel.  A brief walk takes you to Sundance Square and all sorts of eating and shopping opportunities.  We tried out Reata for dinner and Bird Cafe for brunch.  Both were good choices.

So gather your friends, watch the Mineola Main Street website, and get ready to have some fun.  The train ride was enjoyable and it was nice to go to Ft. Worth without any traffic issues. Just relax and enjoy the train ride!

        1. I am so sorry! I just saw this. Contact the Mineola Chamber of Commerce or Tourism. I just attended a wine train trip and am not affiliated with them. Thanks! Kayla
