Summer’s Last Hurrah

I love this time of year.  Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, a little cooler weather, football, long afternoons and impending fall all combine to make me happy with anticipation of holidays, sweaters and hanging out indoors.

For our final summer hurrah, we loaded up the Jeep and headed to Hochatown, Oklahoma and My Ok-La-Home. I had a few things to take  to and a few to pick up from the cabin.

There were afternoon naps, long walks and campfires involved. A nice soak in the hot tub sealed the deal. It was a wonderful weekend to usher in Fall.

I am anticipating warm bowls of chili, hot chocolate, and early mornings wrapped in a blanket on the back porch with coffee.

These may not be “Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,” but they make me happy.  Come February, I will feel the same way about Spring and Summer. But for now, I am loving every minute of this time of year.

What do you look forward to doing during Fall?
