Am I alone in my addiction to watching those quick little videos of cooking, hacking, and solving the world’s problems? I love to pin recipes and hacks from Tasty and Buzz Feed to my Pinterest boards.

Over the weekend, I finally decided to make one of the recipes. I tried the spiral cut potato painted with butter and seasonings, then baked. I have to admit, I liked it!

For me, it wasn’t as easy as it looked to get the skewer through the potato, but I finally got it through. Part of the problem was that I had used a rather long baking potato, so there was more the skewer had to pierce.  Cutting the potato evenly was also challenging.

What I liked was the fact that I had a baked potato in 20 minutes (I raised the baking temperature to 450 degrees so that I could bake it along with two seasoned chicken breasts). They were also tasty and pretty healthy. Other than butter, the recipe called for grated Parmesan cheese and spices.
