While out shopping for nothing in particular (isn’t that what gets us into trouble?), I saw the prettiest display of votive holders. The one pictured above was the most beautiful shade of pink. Pink is my favorite color, but I had no need for the votive holder. Then it hit me, this is the color that I want to use when I redo one of the bedrooms in my house.
Inspiration hit! I had to have the votive holder so that I could color match it for my bedroom walls or accents.

A similar thing happened a couple of days later when I was playing ball with a young friend. We were at my office using a small squishy football. When I looked at it in the light, I noticed it was the most amazing shade of red (my second favorite color). I have got to have my nails done in that color! Maybe even lipstick in that shade would be perfect!

What have you used as color inspiration? Did you have to purchase your color muse(s)?
I have often heard that Sherwin-Williams can match any color. I wonder if it will work for me to take them the glass votive holder. I wonder if my nail lady can match my football?
