As a young girl, I remember getting in the car with my Grandmom. She always kept a bottle of Emeraude in the middle of the front seat of her car (I think she usually had a Mercury, Grand Marquis). She would usually squirt a little bit on her wrists before we pulled out of the garage.
I have always loved perfumes and have an addiction to putting perfume on before I head out the door. At different phases of my life, I have had a signature scent (probably no one else realized it, but I did!). Right now, I am enjoying Central Park West by Bond No. 9. The company describes the scent as:
“Narcissus mingled with tangy ylang ylang and a pinch of piquant pepper. A beckoning white-petal melange – orris, jasmine, and linden-and majestic gardenia.”
Before that, I wore The Scent of Peace by the same brand which was my go-to scent for about year. It is described as:
A melange of sparkling florals and citruses, balanced by a woody-musky detente. Notes: Grapefruit, black currant, lily of the valley, hedione, cedarwood, musk.
Bond No. 9 offers little Bon Bons which are small vials of perfume, perfect for slipping in your purse or luggage. To see all of the Bond No. 9 line, click here.
For a while my favorite scent was Acqua Fiorentina by Creed, which is such a mild and memorable scent. I have the body lotion and a bottle of perfume. By layering both on, it helps to maintain the scent throughout the day. Key notes in it’s scent are:
Top note: Greengage plum, apple
Middle note: Rose, white carnations, bergamot, lemon
Base note: Virginia cedar, sandalwood, white grapefruit
I keep several bottles of perfumes on my vanity, but I tend to spritz the same scent on each morning. Then when the mood hits, I start using another bottle for months on end.
I tend to keep the little centerfolds of catalogues that have perfumed flaps. I put them in with sleepwear, socks and underwear to keep them freshly scented. I sometimes do the same with new candles.
Some of my favorite fragrances are floral and citrus. Usually gardenia and lily of the valley are in my preferred perfumes. With the addition of citrus, these scents come off as fresh and lively.
What are your favorite perfumes? Do you switch seasonally or keep the same scent all year round? Do you have a signature scent?
