As many of us get to take a day to enjoy family and friends, let’s not forget the origin of this day. In 1894 Labor Day become a federal holiday to honor the American labor movement.
Typically celebrated with barbecues, picnics and parades, Labor Day is the unofficial last hurrah of summer. Students head back to school, and those who summer at the beach, head back to the city.
And for some, Labor Day is the last day to wear white until Memorial Day (for more on this, clock here). Still others enjoy the day saving money at all the great end of season sales.
However you choose to enjoy your Labor Day, I hope it is a good one! Enjoy!
