Peach Syrup and Peach Lemonade

IMG_2062
Sadly, I had already broken into the bottle of syrup before I took the photo! It does not come like this, nor did it evaporate. I’m just one of those folks who can’t wait to taste something new.

Yum!  Nothing like fresh peaches to make summer seem like, well, summer!  To capture that flavor all year long,  I recently purchased a bottle of Torani peach flavored syrup from World Market.  The bottle says it is great in “teas, sparkling water, lemonades, smoothies, and more.”

Peach lemonade sounded amazing to me, so I made a batch of regular lemonade and then added the peach syrup.  Because the syrup is really sweet, it is important to reduce the amount of sugar in the lemonade or else the results will be too sweet to drink.

Here is what you will need to make peach lemonade:

1/2 cup lemon concentrate or 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar
Water
Torani’s peach syrup

In a small pan heat the sugar with 1 cup water until almost a boil and sugar has dissolved.  Let cool.

Pour over 2 cups of ice and 3 cups of water.  Taste.  Add a cup or 2 of water if too sweet or too tart.

For peach lemonade, add two tablespoons of peach syrup to a tall glass of lemonade, per the Torani website.  Taste.  Add more syrup, if desired.
