More on Cloth Napkins

Yes, I do love cloth napkins!  Even at a family dinner, cloth napkins, like a homemade meal, show the extra effort you made for your family.

Looking online, I found bundles of 4 cotton dinner napkins with custom monograms or lettering for about $65.  I am planning a special wedding dinner, so I needed 24 napkins.  But I am not going to pay $260, plus shipping for them.

Instead, I purchased 2 bundles of 12 ivory napkins.  After a brief online search for a coupon, I was able to purchase 24 napkins for less than $100.

I decided to embroider a pale blue “M” diagonally on the corner of each napkin, to go with the bridal couple’s chosen colors.  After a test run on a scrap of white fabric, I was ready to go.

To make sure the placement of each letter was uniform, I measured 2 1/2 inches in from either edge and placed a dot with a water soluble pen at the point.

Using a water soluble stabilizer, I followed the directions from my Brother embroidery machine to set it up for stitching.

Twenty-four letters later, I had a beautiful set of matching cotton napkins that will grace the wedding dinner table and many more dinner tables throughout the years.

In addition, to making a lovely tablescape for the wedding dinner, these are a great gift for the bridal couple.
