I am! Have you heard of the new interactive game for family and friends called an escape room? If not, you will want to get familiar with them and possibly even go to one or more.
Escape rooms are located all across the world. There are several in the Metroplex near where I live. They are challenges where the participants have to find clues, answer riddles, solve puzzles, etc. in order to escape from the room. They generally last about an hour and are based on a theme. A quick survey of the rooms in the Dallas area include escape rooms such as: Attic Panic, Secret Vault, Mind Matrix, Steampunk, The Ship, and Room with a Zombie.
The different escape room companies have their own nuances, so you will want to do some research before you schedule. You will want to consider: location, theme, price, difficulty, number of players game can accommodate, and if you want to play with just your group or with strangers as well.
Looking at the options in the Metroplex, a single player may pay $20 to $40 for a game. A group may pay $120 to $200. Check the website for the room you want to try for all the details and schedules.
This is your chance to have some fun with your friends and family, play indoors, solve a crime, or answer a riddle. It sounds like fun to me!
Kayla, I have never heard of this, and this one sounds very freaky to me! Reminds me of a Rizzoli and Isles episode I watched recently where people paid to go be “scared” by zombies and murderers in something like this, and someone was actually murdered! I’m afraid you will have to go without me to an escape room!
It will be fun! You have to try it!
