If you have read the blog for a bit, you know that Mike and I lost our dog, Max, on June 22. He was the dog love of my life and will always be missed.
Mike and I were a bit lonely without Max to entertain us. Our friends at Westie Rescue of North Texas worked with us to find Archie, who came to us from Austin. He is a six year old male, who is a very sweet dog. We are enjoying learning his tricks and preferences. As much as he looks like Max, he doesn’t act very much like him. Max was a very spirited, Alpha male who also came to us from WRNT.
Max had some behavioral issues that took about a year to work through. He was just as happy playing alone as he was playing with us. Archie was well cared for and is very well behaved. However, he doesn’t know how to play alone. And he loves to stick his nose in our armpits!!!
We just learned that if you ask him if he wants to go for a ride, he will bark yes in response. He likes to get under the bedcovers, sit on the back of the couch around your neck, will head butt you if he wants you to pet him, and he loves to crawl under the bed.
We just got some of his things from his last family. There is a big bed that was his that we think he shared with another dog. He got in the bed and seemed like he was going to rip it apart sniffing and digging. Don’t you wonder what dogs are thinking?
There is still so much we don’t know, except that we love this little dog. I am sure I will be sharing his adventures along the way.
