It is that time of year again! The flowers and trees are getting ready to bud, the days are getting longer, and Spring is just around the corner. Not too far after, we will gather with our family and friends to celebrate Easter.
This is one of my favorite holidays to cook for because it has traditional foods, but it is a much smaller production than Christmas or Thanksgiving meals. The foods associated with an Easter meal are also favorites: lamb with mint jelly, ham, peas, carrots and eggs always come to mind for me when I think of an Easter menu. And don’t forget the homemade, melt-in-your-mouth rolls.
Of course a meal is not complete if it does not have the perfect table setting. This year I am planning my table around the salad plates I purchased from William-Sonoma that have cute bunnies, butterflies, and flowers in a field. Yellow, purple, blue and green are the colors I will use on the table.
For linens, I will use an ice blue tablecloth and the napkins I chose are white linen with gold trim, which matches the gold trim on the salad plates, crystal stemware and crystal candlesticks. I plan to include the Baccarat butterflies I have in the chosen color scheme as well as some green bunnies I just purchased at Hobby Lobby.
When a beautiful table setting is before you and your guests, you could almost just serve McDonald’s hamburgers and feel like you had an elegant dinner!
